Work involving childrens’ workshops
There is no doubt that children really enjoy being part of Lydia’s public art projects.
Much of her work with schools involves celebrating cultural diversity, looking at history, national identity, religion, race and the arts. Healthy living and bullying are also explored.
Whilst ensuring all projects are educational and curriculum-led, Lydia encourages the children to stretch their imaginations, be bold in their use of colour and shapes and feel free to express their personality within the group.
The children are led through stages of production from initial concept and drawings through to fabrication and finishing touches. It is as much about the journey as the getting there.
Lydia is always keen to ensure high quality end results that will adorn the children’s shared spaces for many years to come.
Commissions for schools
Lydia also paints murals and signs to commission.
